GY Preparatory Certificate
Our Preparatory Certificate is a structured pathway into gymnastics coaching. The program combines technical coursework with supervised practical experience under our certified head coaches. Graduates leave prepared to coach our SMART START and entry-level developmental classes — and to pursue further national certifications.
Program Overview
Coaching Fundamentals
Communication, age-appropriate progressions, spotting basics, safety, and gym culture.Technical Skills
Body positions, skill progressions, and routine construction on each apparatus.Safety
Spotting protocols, emergency response, and risk awareness across all events.Practical Experience
Shadowing and supervised coaching with our staff before independent class assignment.Requirements
- Age 16 or older
- Background check
- Recent gymnastics experience preferred
- Commitment to completing the full program
- Willingness to coach at least 2 sessions per week post-certification
